Why is it called Borgo dei Gatti?

Have you ever wondered why it is called Il Borgo dei Gatti?
Our dwellings are located on a street in the medieval village of Golferenzo, which has been unpoetically renamed Via Garibaldi, but which for everyone in the village has been and always will remain “Via dei Gat.”
Some say it was the name of a local family, but we like to believe it is in honor of the many felines that still live free among the ancient stones and barns of this enchanted village.
And speaking of animals, all your four-legged friends are welcome at Borgo dei Gatti!
