Golferenzo has joined the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. This was no surprise.
“But how beautiful is this village?”
This is the first thought in the morning when we wake up to the light reflecting off the ancient stones of its peasant houses.
The last thought when we say goodbye to each day by thrilling to the sunsets over the hills and then see the moon rise, that here the sky is so close and the stars really feel like you are touching them.
Although for us “Gulfrens” was already the Most Beautiful Village in the World this recognition filled us with pride. In our hearts we feel that it is also a bit of our own doing.
Because Golferenzo is not only beautiful it is alive! It is a village in rebirth also thanks to us.
We who have been able to see the beauty and respect it, who have created receptivity by gracefully and delicately renovating old dwellings, who do thoughtful catering that pays homage to the many food and wine excellences of this splendid and underrated territory.
That we are dreamers and just could not imagine a Borgo without its Bottega. Without the smell of fresh bread, eggs from free and happy chickens and wicker baskets for shopping.
And why not? Also thanks to us who take care of its silent, proud and free cats, because the real story of this Borgo could perhaps only be told to you by its strays.
We are happy!
And so you will forgive us if we took a moment to celebrate this milestone, a brief moment, the things we still want to do are so many and this enchanted village deserves them all.
