The Stories

The story of this small dwelling is one that deserves to be told.
In the years when having television meant being a gentleman, here was the only TV in the village.
On evenings when RAI broadcast events, within its walls the whole village would gather.
In the summer, the doors were left open, everyone brought a chair, and the small courtyard was filled with voices and laughter.
Can you imagine the atmosphere?
Greve wine and apple pies.
The Sanremo festival with Nilla Pizzi’s songs hummed in low voices.
The excitement over the National Team, that in those days a soccer match was still enough to unite Italy. The screams for goals by Corso or Boniperti. And also that time when the World Cup was won by Hungary but in front of Puskas they all stood up and applauded.
In that house, for a few moments, one forgot a life of land and toil. It was a place where one was comfortable.
Ca’ dl’Erminia now, after careful and respectful renovation, has become a charming little home. But in the end, thinking about it, it has not changed, it is still the place where, for a few moments, we can be perfectly happy.
